Prize - $100 American Express Gift Certificate “Monthly notices of district and individual school usage reports go out to each of the principals from the District Superintendent. The Instructional Technology department salutes the district’s top-ten netTrekker users by including them in the report. We’ve also done summer training through our Teacher Technology Academy and at individual campuses as requested.” This is an outstanding way to promote schools that are successfully using technology within your district and a great suggestion for providing additional opportunities to learn about new technology during summer academies. Prize - $50 American Express Gift Certificate “We began promoting netTrekker by sending an email to all staff describing netTrekker and potential uses in the classroom. We included basic instructions for getting started with netTrekker, along with an invitation to upcoming netTrekker trainings. This fall students received an electronic version of our student handbook. We included a resource page listing commonly used teaching tools students can use independently along with instructions for their use. netTrekker is a primary tool of note.” This is an excellent example of how to communicate with staff, students and parents to inform them about instructional resources that the district provides for them. Prize - $25 American Express Gift Certificate “We contacted netTrekker last spring to acquire a trial subscription. We scheduled this so that it coincided with a series of professional development workshops for our staff. After having experienced netTrekker via online demo and tutorial, I introduced the program to our staff. The series of workshops were organized by grade and curriculum area. Our focus was on integrating technology, and after walking them through the demo, examples were provided on how netTrekker could be used to support their curriculum goals.” This was a great way to introduce netTrekker to staff, during the trial period. This allowed each teacher, curriculum specialist, technology specialist and media specialist to use netTrekker and evaluate it before purchasing the program. This evaluation method helps create avid and enthusiastic users when the district begins the actual implementation program. |
