Here’s an example of a great way to use the netTrekker Famous Person search in your classroom:
  • Can you name a famous person who was born in December in the 18th century and contributed greatly to the American mass production concept?

He later introduced new inventions that allowed interchangeable parts for muskets for the US military. Although this person was responsible for many inventions, he never patented any of the inventions after his first major invention. The invention that made this person famous created wealth for many others but because of patent and other legal issues this person was left with debt and very little wealth as a result.

    Who is the famous person?

  • Use netTrekker to identify this person based on the clues provided. You can use the Famous Person search by selecting American inventors/creators, or if you know the name of this individual, you may search by entering a name in the Name box on the Famous Person page.

    (Answer: Eli Whitney)
