The netTrekker Dynamic Timeline provides a great way to teach history in a new interactive way by showing the cross-curricular connection between important eras, events, famous people, arts and innovations during a specific time period.
  • Zoom into a specific period of history.

  • Layer artistic works onto periods of history.

  • Add layers of disciplines to an existing timeline, creating a cross-disciplinary tool to fit your needs.

  • Save your timelines and share them in the same way that you save searches and share your search folders.


Here’s an example of a great way to use the netTrekker timeline to learn about the stock market crash that began in October of 1929.

  • The stock market crash of 1929 officially started in October and began the onset of the Great Depression. It was without a doubt the longest and most severe economic downturn in American history.

  • The netTrekker timeline can be used as a cross-curricular tool to explore the many facets of society that were impacted by this period in American history.

  • To access the timeline, click on Social Studies, then click on U.S History, and then go to “The Twenties and the Great Depression.*”

  • Click on the timeline icon ( ) next to “The Twenties and the Great Depression” heading to access its timeline.* Make sure to look at the additional layers that can be added to this timeline.
