April is
National Poetry Month. National Poetry Month was established to increase
the visibility and appreciation of poetry in our culture. Many schools
incorporate National Poetry Month into their curriculum for April. Bring
added excitement to your classroom by integrating online poetry resources
into your lesson plans.
Both the
Elementary and Secondary sections of netTrekker offer a variety of educator-selected
online resources on the topic of poetry that can enhance your instruction,
including lesson plans and learning exercises, information about individual
poets and their works, collections of poems, audio clips of poetry readings
and much more. Improving language and literacy skills through the use
of poetry is a goal that can be accomplished by all grade levels!
