Peggy Lafferty, Media/Technology Coordinator at Lincoln County Schools in Lincolnton, North Carolina, utilizes the Atomic Learning tutorial, "Registering a Username and Password" to get teachers registered with netTrekker d.i. "We encourage all teachers to register an individual username and password to take advantage of the Saved and Shared Search features. This enables them to save their favorite netTrekker d.i. websites, lesson plans, and student activities within their own folders, and to share resources among themselves," said Peggy.

She trained a Technology Mentor from each school on how to register a login by viewing the registration tutorial from Atomic Learning located in the netTrekker d.i. Help section. It's one of 22 helpful 1-3 minute video tutorials on various features of netTrekker d.i. After registration, Peggy trained them on the use of netTrekker d.i. The Technology Mentors are classroom teachers who coordinate in-school staff development. They went back to their schools and modeled the same staff development with their fellow teachers.
Student Use
Students from West Monroe High School, including new students that transferred after Katrina, are thanking their innovative teachers for providing their netTrekker d.i. subscription this year. The teachers worked several nights at a local pizza parlor to earn a percentage of the profits to pay for technology resources including netTrekker d.i.. “It's really neat that our teachers worked after school at Johnny's Pizza so that we could continue with netTrekker d.i.. I find websites in netTrekker d.i. that I use to get better grades.”
