Best Practice

"Getting to Know Lincoln"
Gifted students produce documentary

"As a teacher of high ability 3rd & 4th graders, I was looking forward to learning about documentaries along with them," says Janice Torrence of Lincoln Elementary in Warsaw, Indiana. With collaborative efforts, these 3rd & 4th graders learned appropriate research techniques to utilize and incorporate technology to produce a documentary that not only represents their school's history, but also represents their current technological powers.

Our Customers

"Before we implemented netTrekker d.i., teachers had to bookmark web sites and principals had to approve them before students could gain access. Now I easily and confidently send teachers to netTrekker d.i. The teachers find the refinement menus, timeline features, and famous people and image searches to be extremely helpful. It goes without saying that the subject categories on the home page help narrow a search right off the bat for 'beginning searchers.' The breadcrumb trail reinforces key words or paths to a specific topic and helps students to see what path would have manually gotten them to the same results."
