Refinement Menus

The Refinement Menus replace the Refinement Tabs on each Search Results page and provide greater flexibility in refining your search to targeted resources. You now have the ability to refine your search results:

  • to include multiple criteria in a single Refinement Menu such as Learning Exercises, Learning Games, and Formulas/Examples in the Learning Aids Menu.
  • to select options across multiple Refinement Menus such as Readability Level 2 from the Readability Menu AND resources in Spanish from the Languages Menu.
  • for multiple Readability Levels. The Readability Level refinements have been moved to the Refinement Menus to further assist students in finding reading level appropriate content.

My Portfolio

The new My Portfolio area is the personal storage location for subscribers' saved searches. It is also the place where subscribers go to initiate sharing of saved searches. My Portfolio features provide:

  • the ability to select and save one or many resources including websites, timelines, images, famous person search results, standards, and standards-related resources.
  • the ability to quickly save selected resources directly into your My Portfolio folder or save into an existing folder located anywhere within My Portfolio or in accessible community locations such as class, school, or district.
  • expanded sharing opportunities for Teachers. All subscribers that have a role of Teacher can share their saved resources with their school and with other schools in the district. Teachers can also create special folders called Classes that are principally used to effectively deliver differentiated resources to students.
  • students the capability to join a Class in the My Portfolio section or access School and District folders to view and use shared resources.
  • the netTrekker Administrator the ability to assign special viewing and modification rights to specific folders based on the school or district need.
  • form-based templates, such as a Digital Literacy Template and a User Defined Template to allow students and teachers to perform a structured, collaborative analysis of digital resources.
